Breaking Ground!



Citing desperate demand for on-water boat slips in the Bradenton Market area, the Manatee County Commission unanimously approved the new Bradenton Boat Club project at 12160 Cortez Road, just east of the Bradenton Beach Bridge.

August 15, 2007

As of August 2007 the old marina has been torn down, The underground utilities are done, The new and final driveway is in place and the sales trailer is on the way. The pilings the buildings will sit on are being drilled and the seawall will be going in soon. New pictures will be posted as soon as there is a visable change.

The pilings are finished for all three buildings. The rip-rap is in on the east wall of the lagoon and the seawall should be started the first week of September. The sales trailer has been delivered and should be fully functional by the end of next week. Keep coming back to check on the status of construction, because it should start looking like buildings very soon. The foundation for building A is poured and the steel is being assembled, They should start standing the steel up on Wednesday the 24th. The west side of building B foundation will be poured Monday the 22nd and the east side on the 25th. The sea-wall is now in and the sea-wall caps are almost done. Woo-Hoo Buiding A is standing. The sea-wall is done. We have had some rain that has postponed the concrete for the east side of building B, but is should be poured by wednesday.

By popular demand I will start updating this section again. I have been sending out group e-mails to everyone but you all wanted somewhere to direct your friends and family so they could see whats going on as well.

Since the last emailing around Christmas not much has happened. We are running 45-60 days behind schedule because of the steel erectors. Building B has all the trusses up and most of the strapping done. Building A has not really recieved any attention. We have new management from Bellingham now and they promise we will see a lot of progress. Check out the pictures section for the latest pictures. BIG NEWS THIS MONTH...BUILDING A IS ALMOST COMPLETE IT IS JUST MISSING SOME STUCCO AND VINYL SIDING. BUILDING B IS MOSTLY COMPLETE AND NEEDS THE SAME COSMETIC TREATMENT AS A.

THE REALLY BIG NEWS IS THAT BUILDING C IS NOW VERTICAL AND CONTINUING TO MAKE PROGRESS AND THE BRIDGE OVER 123RD ST IS NOW UNDER CONSTRUCTION. WE ALSO HAVE ADS BREAKING IN THE NEWS PAPERS FOR THE NEXT SIX WEEKS.
